Letter from Intag organizations to the Chilean President

In October Intag organizations wrote a letter to the Chilean President showing their solidarity against extractivism and warning of the consequences of reopening the Intag mining project. How open pit mining contaminates

Acid mine Open pit mining results in huge quantities of waste rock. The rock in Intag contains chalcopyrite and pyrite. These are acid generating sulphides. The acid releases heavy metals contained in the rock body. These metals are toxic at low doses. contamination information
